Let’s do it!

Initial step is to connect your PC/Laptop with D-LINK Router .

  • For this take an Ethernet cable and connect to your PC/Laptop with D-LINK Router’s LAN port
  • The Router will assign an IP Address to your machine
  • Check the IP settings and open the IP of Gateway in your browser. This wil open the Router’s initial setup Wizard
  • Click on “START” to begin
  • Next select language and Click on “Advanced Settings”. Here you will have the option to initially set a SSID and password for your device.
  • Configure SSID and Password and click on “APPLY”.

Now you will be redirected to Main Configuration page

Changing LAN IP ADDRESS

  • To change LAN IP address, navigate to “Connections setup” and then “LAN
  • Here you can change the LAN IP to your desired IP, for example I have changed the IP of my Router from “192.168.0.1” to “192.168.100.1
  • Also make sure that the changes in IP scheme are also reflected in the DHCP Server settings i.e change the “Start IP” & “End IP” to new IP scheme & Click “APPLY

After the above step, the Router will reboot and now you would be able to access it via New IP (192.168.100.1)

Changing WIFI SSID and Password

Next step is to configure the WIFI SSID and password. For this navigate to “WIFI” and then “Basic Settings” tab on the left menu

  • Navigate to “Network Name (SSID)” setting.
  • Password can be changed, on same page, in “Security Settings
  • Change “Authentication” to “WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK Mixed Mode” and set desired password in “Password PSK” .
