cisco switch password recovery | cisco switch hard reset
Asalam o alikum Brothers and sisters, today I will show you how you can recover your Cisco switch incase you forgot the username /password. This tutorial actually shows you how to hard reset your cisco switch , when there is no way left to login to your switch (as you forgot or lost your password).
NOTE:::: After Hard Reset all your configurations will be lost.!
It’s a very essay process. You just need to do following things:
- Login to switch using console .
- Power off the switch and power up again.
- While you power up the switch , press and hold the “MODE button for several seconds.
- Console access will take you to recovery mode as show below.
- Now enter below mentioned commands.
flash_init
delete flash:config.text
delete vlan.dat
Last step is to reboot the switch . Enter below mentioned command:
boot
